Dear Earth is an education and outreach project that connects children, families, and communities with the natural world through storytelling and hands-on learning.

At the heart of the project are our stories, designed especially for children, which explore critical environmental challenges such as climate change and habitat loss, while celebrating the incredible biodiversity of our planet. Grounded in real scientific research, these stories aim to spark curiosity and inspire meaningful action.

Although our stories are written for children, we hope the activities will inspire not only young minds but also those young at heart to connect with and care for nature.

Our mission is to inspire the next generation of conservationists, while helping people of all ages develop a deeper understanding of the environment and the importance of protecting it for the future.

New Storybook!

Once We Were Everywhere

Learn about butterfly decline, habitat loss, and how we can help. Includes hands-on activities!

When a boy’s favourite meadow disappears, so does the butterfly he has come to love. Guided by his grandmother’s stories, shaped by her life as a wildlife conservationist, he discovers a bigger truth: when wild spaces vanish, so do the creatures that depend on them. Refusing to give up, he inspires his community to create the wildest neighbourhood, where insects and wildlife can thrive once again.

Based on real research into the worldwide decline of butterflies.
